Helen is our Team Leader and founder of Oxhey Western Trail Rides.
Helen has been riding since the age of two and used to compete at endurance riding English Style and started riding Western Style because she found it more comfortable than the English Style, in order to continue her love of distance riding, following and preservation of our local bridleways.
Helen is Oldham/Saddleworth and Greater Manchester’s Access and Bridleway’s Officer for the British Horse Society. Also Chairman of West Pennine Bridleways Association
Her business is fully licensed by the local council and has full riding school insurance
This is Bandit who is a 17hh Dutch warmblood x Cob
He is very easy to handle and happy to please his rider
Used are our lead horse at the moment but available for customers to ride.
Rosie is a 14.2hh Dales pony who we use for our special needs riders and longer trail rides. She has also been to several local show and always in the ribbons.
She is able to carry 16 stone on the one hour rides only since we live in hill country.
Everyone loves her as she is a real character
She is a 17 years old 14.2hh Dales Pony who came to use after she retired from being a broodmare. We use her for our beginner rides and also takes part in the children’s rides and supports our special needs riders.
She’s a Chestnut Welsh Section D, she’s 17 years old and is 15hh
Fliss is suitable for complete beginners with lead reign through to advanced and is also suitable for disabled and special needs riders.
Fliss has been with us over a year and has been trained Western Style since she joined us
He’s also a Fell pony, he’s 12 years old and is 14hh
He’s suitable for lead rein through to novice and advanced riders.
Billy joined our team this year and also help with our special needs riders.
Here is our lovely pumpkin who is a 12.2hh Dartmoor pony. She looks after our younger riders where she also happy to be groomed and mane platted.
Here is Indie who is a 6 year old 12.3hh mini gypsy cob and has joined the team to look after children and is really good with people with special needs. He is really safe to ride and is bomb proof. We are told he is broken to pull a cart so we going to work on this.
